Who We Are

    In June of 1998 SAT Inc. purchased the manufacturing rights to a product called the Worm Wigwam. The Worm Wigwam is a small but extremely efficient flow through system designed to fill the need for vermicomposting systems for small restaurants, school cafeterias and the like. 

     Prior to SAT Inc. purchasing the manufacturing rights, the Worm Wigwam was manufactured and sold by John Gorman Sauvage for approximately 3 years. In that period of time over two hundred systems had been manufactured and sold worldwide.

    After assessing the market needs the management of SAT Inc. realized what the market and the industry needed in addition to the Worm Wigwam were relatively inexpensive larger vermicomposting systems that would process manure and food wastes. systems that could process up to 1 ton of material on a daily basis. Based on the same technology as the Worm Wigwam, we are proud of the fact that in just a few short months we are now able to offer larger systems to meet the needs of any facilities’ vermicomposting need.

    The Worm Wigwam and our larger systems operate with an intense population of earthworms (close to 2 pounds of worms per square foot). Processing time of organic material normally takes 45 to 90 days, which in and of itself is extremely impressive considering the processing time of compost in a well run composting facility takes a minimum of 6 months and more like 9 months. The end product is the finest Worm Castings available due to the care taken in providing the proper environment. A raised bed, flow through system provides for proper aeration and will allow for the proper moisture level to be obtained. Further the systems allow for easy clean out and feeding of the earthworms, significantly reducing the number of man hours necessary to maintain the system. Our number one goal is to produce the finest quality worm casting available.
